ActionAid: Ready for Anything appeal

Today’s post is about ActionAid, a charity that is aiming for a world without poverty, by working with local people to fight hunger, seek justice for women and education for children, and cope with emergencies. You can find out more about what ActionAid does here.

Wherever there is poverty and injustice, in over 40 countries in Africa, Asia and the Americas, ActionAid is working to help people free themselves from poverty. Whether they are building a well, hiring a teacher, or lobbying a government, Action Aid makes sure that every pound they spend goes as far as possible. You can read more about the specific details of where ActionAid works and how it spends the money raised on their site.

Over 300 million people are affected by disasters every year. The poorest and most vulnerable people are the hardest hit. Lives are at risk, communities are wiped out and families lose everything. Now there is also an opportunity for you to double your donation! From TODAY until 3 May, the UK Govt will match donations to ActionAid pound by pound as part of our Ready for Anything appeal. The extra money will go towards our emergency work - helping the world’s poorest people to survive disasters.
Together we can ensure the world’s poorest people are Ready for Anything. Donate now and help us to stop disasters becoming tragedies.

Donate now! Visit www.actionaid.org.uk/rfa or text ‘DOUB13 £10’ to 70070 to give £10. Double the difference you can make at no extra cost to yourself!

Blessings!

Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the LORD your God will bless you in everything you do.” {Deuteronomy 15:10}

Live58: Fast. Forward. The end of poverty.

We have everything we need to end extreme poverty, but will we do everything it takes to do it? This is the burning question asked by Live58.

Live58 is a Christ-centered global initiative to end extreme poverty in this generation. The name comes from Isaiah 58 where we realise that caring for the poor is not an option but a command to Christians that comes deep from God's heart. Live58 is calling on churches and Christian communities to join them to seek to end extreme poverty in our lifetime.

58: THE FILM tells the story of the global church on the move, rising up to its remarkable potential to end extreme poverty by bringing God's words through Isaiah to life in our time. Arrange a viewing to show the film and to get support for this cause from your family, friends and the Christian community around you. Your non-Christian friends and family  would get involved with a cause like this too, so don't make this exclusive to Christians that you know!

Blessings!
