Wear it Pink: 2013 GB Swimmers Charity Calendar

This is the last official post of the Ethical Christmas Shopping Series I started in November. Today I am posting about the Wear it Pink 2013 Charity Calendar.

The official calendar, produced in support of Breast Cancer research, features some of British Swimming’s top athletes who have shed their swimsuits for a 2013 calendar to raise money and awareness for this cause.

These swimmers may be used to hanging around poolside wearing very little, but 15 of GB’s stars of London 2012 have taken things a step further, baring all for Wear it Pink 2012 – a project run by charity Breast Cancer Campaign.

The calendar will feature the likes of swimmer Fran Halsall, diver Nick Robinson-Baker, water polo captain Fran Leighton and synchronised swimmer Asha Randall as well as Paralympic medallists Claire Cashmore and Ollie Hynd. The photography is by Simon Wright of GBswimstars.

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in the UK with around 48,000 women diagnosed each year in the UK alone.

Breast Cancer Campaign was set up in 1988 with the aim of researching the cure for breast cancer. You can find out more about Breast Cancer Campaign and Wear it Pink here. Also see a previous post of mine about Wear it Pink.

The calendar is on sale now. £2.97 per calendar sold will go to Wear It Pink. Even if it’s not your preference of calendar think about loved ones who would like one for Christmas! Order your copy here!

Blessings!
