As suggested by the A21
Campaign, it is a good idea to be
an abolitionist, unite
and conquer and to link
locally. In today’s post, I am writing about the Abolition Summit 2013 in
America. Now, this may not be local to me, but it looks like an excellent
conference to get involved with and since there are a number of Americans
following this blog, I thought it might be useful to point out!
The Abolition Summit 2013 actually
started today (2nd January) and continues through to 4th
January. There is a promotional video
that explains what it is all about. You can also go to the website to register and for
further details.
This is the second annual Abolition
Summit held by Exodus Cry. It is a practical and theological equipping for
abolitionists. It is basically three days of training to understand and
effectively combat trafficking in our modern society. Speakers include Annie
Lobert, who herself was trapped in sexual slavery- she talks about her story here.
For those of us who are unable to attend
the Summit, we can pray for wisdom, passion, courage and strength for those who
are able to attend.
If you are passionate about fighting
human trafficking, find local events and people who promote and share the same
passion.
Blessings!
