Help PeTA to Stand Up to Animal Cruelty!

I received this email from PeTA about new legislation threatening to take animal cruelty to even worse extremes in the meat and dairy industry if we do not stand up and fight it! Please support to/donate this cause to make a difference!

Blessings!

Dear Ronell,

Pigs raised for their flesh are beaten and kicked. Cows on dairy farms are jabbed at or electrocuted if they're too sick to stand up. Chickens are confined to filthy cages so small that they can't even spread their wings.

And if the meat and dairy industries get their way, this cruelty could continue unseen.

Lawmakers in many states have introduced bills that would make it illegal for undercover investigators—like PETA's—to gather evidence of cruelty to animals on factory farms. If these bills become law, more animals will suffer.

Be one of 600 new donors to support PETA's Investigations & Rescue Fund with a monthly gift by 11:59 p.m. Friday. Give $19 or more, and we'll send you a FREE tote bag as our thanks!

Legislatures are debating these "ag-gag" bills, and our opponents are determined to see that they pass so that their horrific abuse can remain hidden from the public. They're scared becauseinvestigations like ours are so effective at exposing their cruel and often illegal treatment of animals—and making perpetrators pay.

Take for example what happened in Iowa. What we found over the course of three months on a pig factory farm was heartbreaking: pigs jabbed in the eyes, kicked in the face, and beaten with metal rods. But thanks to support from compassionate people like you, our work brought about Iowa's very first convictions for the abuse or neglect of factory-farmed pigs.

And we're not just providing the evidence for successful prosecutions—we're changing the conversation about factory farming all around the world. Each time an investigation of ours breaks, more people choose to adopt a humane vegan lifestyle. The meat and dairy industries know that their only shot at winning is to silence us.But I know that you won't let them.

Help us stand up to dangerous "ag-gag" bills and protect more animals by making a monthly gift to support our Investigations & Rescue Fund today.

With your support, we've already helped stop "ag-gag" bills from passing in more than five states this year. But legislation is still pending in numerous states and may be introduced in Canada—so we need your help to fight back against the powerful meat and dairy industries. I hope you'll step up and help today.

Thank you for your support.

Kind regards,

Go Cruelty Free!

Today’s post is about Go Cruelty Free, a website dedicated to giving us every day alternatives to products that have been tested on animals. Statistics indicate that an estimated 19.5 million animals die each year as a result of animal testing in the US alone!

Many of the products on our supermarket shelves, from lipsticks to floor cleaners, have either been tested on animals or contain ingredients that have.
While some products carry labels claiming that their brand is ‘not tested on animals’ or is ‘against animal testing’, these are often confusing and do not guarantee that the product is actually free from animal testing. Only the Leaping Bunny can provide peace of mind.
Products bearing the Leaping Bunny mark are certified ‘cruelty free’ under the internationally-recognised Humane Cosmetics or Humane Household Products Standards.
These rigorous standards stipulate that no animal testing is conducted or commissioned for finished products or ingredients in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories or its suppliers after a fixed cut-off date.
A broad range of personal care, cosmetic and household products carry the Leaping Bunny mark. Using the search tool you can find ‘cruelty-free’ products such as skin, hair, foot and dental care, fragrances, make-up, nail care, baby care and aromatherapy products, as well as a wide range of household cleaners from dishwasher detergents to disinfectants.
Use this site to:
•
Search for cruelty free products:

Find brands and products that are guaranteed ‘cruelty free’ and carry the Leaping Bunny logo.

•               Ask your favourite brands to Go Cruelty Free:
Find out if your favourite brands are ‘cruelty free’, and if they’re not we’ll help you get in touch with them to find out why not!

•               Visit our FAQ section: Learn more about animal testing for cosmetic and household products.
