Human
trafficking is nothing short of evil, but don’t underestimate the power of
prayer. Whether you opt to pray on the 21st of every month, or the 21st
hour of every day, prayer is important!
As
a Christian, I believe that prayer is not only important, but essential. Prayer
is not only a way of petitioning God, but also is key to developing a
relationship with Him. I am glad that the A21 Campaign suggested prayer as one
of the 21 ways to help the campaign. To me it seems like an obvious response,
but often it is the most obvious things that we fail to say/note. I realised that
in most of my posts, I have not suggested or even mentioned prayer! I just want
to emphasise that I believe wholeheartedly in the power of prayer and that my
recommendation is daily prayer. When you read this blog, pray for the causes
mentioned, and if you are able to give of yourself financially, please do so.
Below
is a small selection of scriptures that give us a biblical perspective on the
power of prayer:
Psalm 107:28-30 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them
from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were
hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to
their desired haven
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that
you have received it, and it will be yours.
John 14:13-14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be
glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it
Matthew 21:21-22 And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if
you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the
fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into
the sea,’ it will happen. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if
you have faith.”
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward
him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
