As promised on Mandela Day 2013 (19.07.13), this is part of my series on their 67 suggested ways of changing the world. This one comes under the category of 'Help Out for Good Health:
26.
Take someone you know, who can’t afford it, to get their eyes tested or their
teeth checked.
Many people cannot afford things that we consider to be basic rights, such as eye tests or dentist appointments. In the UK, we are fortunate to have the NHS system, which often covers these costs for those who cannot afford it, but I know that this kind of healthcare system is not in place in many countries. Support someone less fortunate than you are by enabling them to access these things that we take for granted/consider basic needs.
Blessings!
