World Watch List: The 5-5-5 Project

Tonight at revive (mid-week prayer at re:generation church) we read about and prayed for different churches and Christians that are being persecuted around the world. I picked up a leaflet about The World Watch List and just knew I had to share.

The World Watch List (WWL) is a ranking of 50 countries where persecution of Christians for religious reasons is worst. First of all, the list covers persecution of Christians of all denominations in the entire country. The focus is on persecution for their faith, not persecution for political, economic, social, ethnic or accidental reasons.

Open Doors is  a Christian organization that works in the world’s most oppressive countries, strengthening Christians to stand strong in the face of persecution and equipping them to shine Christ’s light in these dark places.
You can also make a huge impact for persecuted Christians! Open Doors have set up a challenge to help you to make a difference where you can! The 5-5-5 Challenge is a three part challenge designed to inspire prayer, awareness, and financial support to impact the lives of persecuted Christians around the world.
1.) 5 Minute Challenge: Set aside 5 minutes (or more) a week to pray for the country of the week on our website.

2.) 5 Friend Challenge: Share this challenge with 5 friends on your social networks and get them involved.
3.) 5 Dollar Challenge: Give $5 a month (or more) to make a deeper impact for suffering persecuted Christians.
You can also pray for the work of Open Doors, donate to their cause, or travel with them to do mission work.

Whatever you are able to do, please do it as soon as possible to make the biggest impact!

Blessings!
